She's here!!!!

Savannah May Johnson decided that January 21st was the day she was going to make her grand entrance. Thursday night after some serious laughs thanks to the Peteresons, "Community" and "The Office", my water broke at 11:30. However, I wasn't too sure if it had or if I had a little accident so when I woke up at 1:00 to really use the restroom and there was much more than should have been, I went to my hall bathroom debating on if I should call my doctor or not. I guess in the time I was gone, Cade had gotten up to use the restroom as well. Realizing that I was not in bed, he came looking for me and found me in my stupor. I told him that I thought my water had broken, but wasn't sure. He said he would follow my lead and went back to sleep. I made the decision and we were out the door half an hour later.

After we got to the hospital's triage around 4:00 AZ time, we got the confirmation that my water had in fact broken and that I was having contractions that I couldn't even feel. I was admitted at 7:00 AM due to there being a million people having babies that night that there wasn't a clean room for me for a while. Once in my room, they started on me at Oxytocin and found out that I was at a 4. After 2 1/2 hours, I decided to get the IV medication that would take the edge. HA! That worked a whopping 15 minutes. So at 10 I asked for an epidural. They asked Cade to leave the room and I got the good stuff. Only problem was that my left side didn't numb completely. So they rolled me onto my side to get it numb. Five minutes later, Cade came in and I felt like I had to push. My nurse came in after Cade and checked me and I was at an 8. A few minutes later, I told my nurse again that I really, really had to push. She told me it was just pressure from the baby, but I told her "uh, nuh-uh". She checked me again and Savannah was right there. She ran to get the doctor and we got down to business. I started pushing at 11 and she was born at 11:13.
It was such an amazing experience. I am so excited to start this journey with Cade and to raise this sweet daughter of God.
