St. Louis Zoo

On our first day in St. Louis, we all headed to the St. Louis Zoo for Savannah's first official trip to one. Needless to say, it was over 100 with a humidity count that was close to the same.  However, it was fun riding the train with her and watching her staring intensely at the sting rays and guinea pigs.  She nodded off about an hour into the excursion but the rest of us had fun.

On to Carthage and St. Louis

Forgive the sideways pictures.  Got a new computer and still figuring out editing, but they were too cute to not put up.

 Carthage Jail

Our last day in Nauvoo was awesome.  My folks and I woke up and did some sessions at the temple.  It was awesome.  Definitely one of the all-time special days ever.  Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and loaded up the house of stuff that I brought.  Ugh.  Right before we left  we walked the Trail of Hope, or Parley Street.  It was the route that the saints took as they were leaving Nauvoo.  It was such a sad thing to do, to walk where those poor people walked.  They were losing their homes, their possessions, the temple and they had lost the Prophet Joseph.  Yet, they were still hopeful and faithful that things were going to be alright.

After driving for a bit, we made it to Carthage.  Another amazing experience to be where a prophet of God was, but under terrible circumstances that eventually ended his life.  To take this journey was definitely eye-opening for sure.

Our first full day of Nauvoo was amazing.  There were so many amazing presentations to see. (Plus it was a perk that I was with my familia.) We went to several homes that are still standing and saw different demonstrations.  The temple was amazing.  It was incredible to see something that I have heard and read about my whole life finally in person.  The spirit there was so tranquil.  It was an amazing experience.
